2012 ProTour Team Kits

Firstly, sorry for the lack of posts over the past few days. We’ve both been busy, so VeloStage had to be put on the back-burner for a bit.

Following on from the team bikes post, we’re posting all this years team kits. So since Ant has an amazing fashion sense (he wears chinos!), he’ll be commenting on the jerseys! Comment below stating which one is your favourites!

Ag2r-La Mondiale

Looks ‘retro’ to me. I’d rarely say that brown and light blue looks good, but this does! I think this is one of the best designs out of this years selection of jerseys.

Astana

Pretty much as last years kit I think. Maybe a subtle colour change in the blue, but I think that’s it. I don’t know why, but I really don’t like it.

BMC Racing Team

It to is plain and simple. I like the square/rectangle effect. Also, you can’t go wrong with red/black colours.

Euskaltel-Euskadi

Plain and bright. I loveee it! Teamed up with black shorts, and it looks even better. I’m tempted to buy this for myself, although I don’t like wearing team kit.

FDJ-BigMat

I just really hope that I never watch a race in which the riders for this team are riding in the rain. It will be nearly as bad as Project 1T4I’s skinsuit in the Tour Of Qatar (here)

Garmin-Barracuda

Atleast this year it would be easy to distinguish between Garmin and Sky with the change to the kit. Not sure about the bottom of the jersey, in my opinion it would of looked better without the diamonds.

GreenEDGE

The newest team to join the ProTour. Their jersey would fit right in. Absolutely lovely. Another jersey I would buy (if I weren’t poor)

Lampre-ISD

The only pink kit in the Pro peloton again. It really is a lovely kit, but you would never see me wearing one. Pink is not my colour.

Liquigas-Cannondale

I think this is this years kit, well google says it is. It looks remarkably like last years. It is a mediocre kit. The lines coming out of the side panels into the torso are a nice touch, but the compliments stop there.

Lotto-Belisol

Nope. Just no. Although, the model does have quite a nice body (no homo).

Movistar Team

Oooooft. OOOOOOFT. This is lovely. I usually think that logos ruin some kits, but this logo absolutely makes this kit special. This is by far my favourite kit.

Omega Pharma-Quick Step

I really like the idea of having a colour go down the sleeves and across the neck, just like Nissan-Radioshack-Trek’s kit. But having two main sponsors on the front of a kit dosn’t look good.

Rabobank

I can’t see any change over last years kit. It’s not crowded and orange and blue go well together. Not sure about the panels on the shoulders and arms though.

RadioShack-Nissan-Trek

Keeping with pretty much the same design as the Leopard Trek design from last year, apart from adding the red RadioShack strip in between the black and blue blocks. I really liked last seasons, and this one is just as good. Although the normal kit has a Luxembourg flag colours on it, so does Frank Schleck really need another Jersey? ;)

Team Katusha

A vast improvement on last years number. Not weird shapes and much simpler. Still not sure about blue text, but it’s not that bad, and certainly not the worse jersey out there.

Team Saxo Bank

I have no idea what that bird thing on the front (and waves/fire? on the back) represent, but it sure is ugly. Oh, and the tilted text on the back of the jersey makes it look tatty too. It looks like someone forgot to remove the watermark from the designs.

Team Sky

World and British champion jerseys are always lovely. Sky seem to of not made any changes from last seasons kit, and rightly so. You can’t really improve on such a lovely simple kit.

Vacansoleil-DC

There is too much going on here. I really don’t like ‘busy’ kits, and this is one of them.
